Barbara Walters has basically made a career out of being a lightweight celebrity interviewer. Rose is a professional Washington D.C. butt kisser. No wonder they love each other.

Note: since my memories of of former Hollywood gossip maven Rona Barrett's tv interviews in the 1960's, when Barbara was still a Today Show human ornament, are too vague to recall accurately, so I can't say this with any real certainty, but dollars to donuts that Rona, who was kind of abrasive though lacking that annoying upper class Wasp-ish snootiness that Barbara is inbued with, asked more penetrating questions of her subjects than Walters did.
