"Nuancing" The Consumer

One thing that marketers have to do is to knock it off with this horsecrap of making one side or the other look like an idiot in their commercials. Most of the victims of this are white males. The message most often conveyed about white males by Madison Avenue nowadays is that they are incompetent doofuses.

In addition, those same advertisers are unwilling to make black males look like morons, and, in fact, are almost always portrayed as wiser than whitey in mulitracial spots.

It is possible to do interesting marketing without demonizing anyone, but Madison Avenue always takes the easy way out in the quest to appeal to women and minorities while undermining the confidence of white males.

So knock it off! These spots make me angry at the company who uses such advertising and several of them are banned from my shopping cart forevermore.
