Luke Russert Joins NBC News As Correspondent At Large

Story is here.

This is just more media royalism. Just as too many congressional seats seem to be becoming family dynastic possessions, it is that way with the media where we are seeing more and more offspring of past and present news figures joining the family business.

Luke Russert did a couple of appearances on ESPN's Pardon the Interruption this week and came off rather lame. It is really hard for me to believe that there wasn't somebody more qualified than Russert for that job. He doesn't appear to be that bright and is thus the media equivalent of a legacy admission. And like I have said before, studies have shown that legacy admits do worse academically than affirmative action admits in college.

But maybe he is fitting fror an age of legacy admits G.W. Bush and John McCain.

Approved

Note: Russert really got sliced and diced in the comments section and it was really surprising to me that so many of them got through the pro-Russert moderating hoardes at HuffPo. It does make me wonder what may not have been permitted to be shown. Nonetheless, this was an encouraging development.

Yeah, and on PTI yesterday when Wilbon asked "Who's 51 for the Bills?" Russert responded "Paul Puzlowski." Really? Who is he? Is he related to Paul Pozluzny?
Seriously, this guy is getting all of these breaks for NO REASON.
